Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, risk management, and statutory tax compliance for Mkumbi Investment Company Ltd. The role oversees plot/farm financing account records, customer installment payment tracking, and routine regulatory portal filings.

• Financial Reporting & Accounting: Prepare, manage, and analyze comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Statutory Portal Filings: Timely filing and reconciliation of statutory returns on government and regulatory portals including TRA (Tax), NSSF (Pensions), and WCF (Workers Compensation).

• Audit & Risk Management: Execute internal control checks, manage financial audit processes, and mitigate potential operational/financial risks within real estate transactions.

• Property Account Reconciliation: Record land sales, plot financing installments, customer ledger balances, and operational expenditure using specialized accounting and IT packages.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent field. Accountant Job Vacancy at Mkumbi

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification accounting experience (auditing background is highly preferred).

• Age Requirement: Candidates must be between 27 and 35 years old.

• Technical Skills & Systems:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks), MS Office packages, and general IT applications.

  • Practical experience operating TRA, NSSF, and WCF online portals.

  • Hands-on experience in financial auditing and risk management procedures.
