1. School of Nursing (SoNU)
Job Title: Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) – Re-advertised
Reports to: Dean, School of Nursing (SoNU)
Duty Station: SJUT Chief Mazengo Campus, Dodoma
Job Summary:
With guidance from senior staff, the Assistant Lecturer will conduct teaching, research, and public services such as consultancy.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 (5-point scale) for the undergraduate degree and 4.0 (5-point scale) for the Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Registered with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council (TNMC).
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct lectures, prepare case studies, assist in tutorials/seminars for undergraduate courses.
- Work cooperatively with senior faculty members on research and consultancy.
- Supervise special projects, conduct and publish research, and disseminate results.
- Participate in research, consultancy, and faculty development activities.
- Mark and grade examinations, supervise students during seminars, fieldwork, and practical sessions.
- Participate in curriculum development and write teaching manuals.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and symposia.
Salary Scale: Staff salary rank according to SJUT Scheme of Service.
Tenure: Fixed-term contract of four (4) years, renewable based on performance.
2. Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies (FoCB)
Job Title: Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) – Re-advertised
Reports to: Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies (FoCB)
Duty Station: SJUT Chief Mazengo Campus, Dodoma
Job Summary:
With guidance from senior staff, the Assistant Lecturer will conduct teaching, research, and public services such as consultancy.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Mathematics or Statistics.
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics or Statistics.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 (5-point scale) for the undergraduate degree and 4.0 (5-point scale) for the Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching business mathematics, statistics, or related subjects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct lectures, prepare case studies, assist in tutorials/seminars for undergraduate courses.
- Collaborate with senior faculty members on research and consultancy.
- Supervise projects, conduct and publish research, and disseminate results.
- Participate in research, consultancy, and faculty development activities.

3. Legal Unit
Job Title: Legal Officer II (1 Post)
Reports to: Corporate Counsel and Secretary to Council
Duty Station: SJUT Chief Mazengo Campus, Dodoma
Job Summary:
The Legal Officer II assists the Corporate Counsel and Secretary to Council in providing legal advice and performing duties related to legal affairs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution.
- Must have attended the Law School of Tanzania or undergone a one-year internship recognized by the Attorney General.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage documents and correspondence for assigned cases.
- Handle legal routine correspondence, draft legal documents.
- Compile evidence for court cases involving the University.
- Register legal documents and represent the University in court proceedings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Counsel.
Salary Scale: Staff salary rank according to SJUT Scheme of Service.
Tenure: Fixed-term contract of four (4) years, renewable based on performance.
