STAMIGOLD Company Limited – Biharamulo Mine is a subsidiary company of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) operating a gold mine. The Mine is located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. In order to run the mine effectively and efficiently, the Company invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the existing vacancies as detailed below: –

Contract Duration: 19 months, subject to renewal

Senior Resource Geologist (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Composes and validates drill hole data suitable for resource estimation.
  • Conducts audit of drill hole databases to maintain data integrity.
  • Uses  statistical tools to create summary reports, frequency tables and
  • Probability plots
  • Uses geostatistical   tools to generate variograms
  • Creates and manipulate wireframes of complex orebodies for 3D visualization and volume calculations.
  • Creates block models containing geological, structural and grade information required for resource/reserve estimation and planning;
  • Ensures grade estimation using both geo-statistical and non-geo-statistical methods;
  • Calculates summary volumes, tonnes and grades within a defined volume to facilitate optimization of ore production;
  • Collaborates with the exploration, mining, geology and engineering team to provide technical support and share expertise including geological and resource modelling and data.
  • Completes tasks as assigned in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Performs any other duty as might be assigned by the superior

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holders of BSc in Geology or related field
  • At least five (5) years of working experience with competent skills in geological software.
  • He/She must be computer literate.

Graduate Mining Engineer (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in feasibility studies of new mining projects;
  • Prepares detailed mining engineering drawings;
  • Identifies and recommends suitable mining methods and mining equipment or machinery;
  • Ensuring that operations and equipment comply with health and safety requirements;
  • Assesses the feasibility of new sites;
  • Conducts investigations of mineral deposits and undertake evaluations in collaboration with geologists, other earth scientists and economists to determine whether the mineral deposits can be mined profitably;
  • Develops individual objectives/targets and all performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor and;
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holder of BSc. Engineering in Mining or relevant discipline from a recognized Institution.

Metallurgist (02) Posts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and prepares periodic mineral production reports and advices the departmental Manager on technical adequacy;
  • Develops training programs for usage and maintenance of equipment;
  • Ensures that all employees work safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards, and procedures;
  • Supervises and develops technical staff through coaching, training and performance review;
  • Prepares reports and submit to manager;
  • Performs statistical analysis;
  • Monitors plant performance, identifying sources of variability and making recommendations for improvement;
  • Maintains quality control programs within the plant and onsite laboratories;
  • Prepares daily shift reports on Standard forms, record equipment failures, etc.;
  • Assists in budget preparation and cost control for the Metallurgical Group;
  • Conducts investigations, test work and technical projects to maintain performance or to identify opportunities to exceed targets;
  • Develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor and;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holder of BSc. Metallurgy or related field from recognized institution
  • At least with at least three (3) years working experience in mining industry.
  • He/She must be computer literate.

Boilermaker (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs and repairs equipment;
  • Reads blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures;
  • Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
  • Sets up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);
  • Operates angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
  • Repairs machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps;
  • Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws;
  • Maintains equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety;
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holder of Certificate of Secondary School Education with vocational training in welding from recognized institution.
  • At least one (1) year working experience.

Senior Internal Auditor (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes steps to detect deliberate distortion of financial information;
  • Develops an efficient and effective internal auditing systems and procedures;
  • Formulates and recommends short and long term plans of the Audit Unit;
  • Analyzes budgets, comparing expenditures with budgets and preparing audit statements and reports;
  • Prepares and circulates periodic fact sheets on internal Auditing information of general and specific interests to the Company Audit;
  • Liaises with external auditors and coordinates the external policies;
  • Provides replies to audit quarries to External Auditors;
  • Reviews audit papers to ensure adequate audit coverage;
  • Interprets and implements financial and general Audit policies;
  • Monitors audit work in order to ensure that the work programs are implemented efficiently;
  • Reviews and reports on conformity with financial rules and regulations and operational procedures laid down in any legislation or any regulations or instructions for control over the expenditure of the Company;
  • Conducts reviews on company compliance to the Strategic and business plan;
  • Develops individual objectives /targets and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate superior and;
  • Performs any other duties assigned by superior.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holder of CPA (T) and must be registered with NBAA
  • At least five (5) years post qualification experience.
  • Possession of computer application skills in relevant accounting computer packages is mandatory.
