Job Summary
Aviation Security Officers play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients, personnel, and airport operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Screening and Surveillance: Conduct thorough screening of passengers, luggage, and cargo in compliance with national and international aviation security regulations.
- Access Control: Manage access points within restricted areas, verifying credentials, and preventing unauthorized entry.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly and decisively to security breaches, incidents, or emergencies.
- Compliance and Patrols: Perform dynamic patrols of airport areas, identifying and reporting potential hazards or vulnerabilities. Enforce compliance with security procedures by staff and visitors.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, completing logs and incident reports to support security operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma
- Security–Mindedness: A demonstrable understanding of security principles and the ability to identify potential threats.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and meet the physical demands of the role.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Demeanour: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a professional demeanour when interacting with travellers and colleagues.
Desirable Skills:
- Prior experience in an aviation security or related law enforcement role.
- Certification in aviation security or first aid/CPR.
