Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory services to management and all business units across the Group.
• Draft, review, and interpret contracts, agreements, and memoranda to safeguard the company’s legal interests.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, mediations, and regulatory matters (including CMA, Labour Office, and Courts).
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian laws and regulations, including labour, corporate, and commercial laws, etc.
• Prepare and manage legal documentation, including notices, board papers, and company secretarial records.
• Support policy formulation, governance frameworks, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and ensure timely follow-up on all pending cases.
• Advise on disciplinary processes, customer relations, and contract enforcement, etc.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B); a Master’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice is an added advantage.
• Must be a registered Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania with a valid practising certificate.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably within a large organization or reputable law firm.
• Strong understanding of labour, commercial, and contract law.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
