Job Title: Construction Foreman
Reporting Line Manager: Project Manager
Department: Projects
Job Summary:
The Foreman is responsible for scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required. This involves ensuring all Company and legal regulations are implemented, that all required documentation is completed as necessary and recording daily work on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and manage construction tasks in accordance with priorities and goals
- Ensuring that work on site conforms to company and legal health and safety requirements
- Overseeing the coordination of construction works and ensuring that they are in accordance with priorities and plans
- Coordinate construction at site to satisfactory and compliant completion
- Reporting possible health and safety hazards
- Following instructions and complete projects in accordance with methods of procedures
- Tracking the progress of work using checklists
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Producing schedules and monitoring the attendance of team.
- Inspecting construction sites continuously and ensuring that manpower and resources are adequate
- Tracking expenditure and ensuring that it stays within budget
- Identifying and resolving problems that may arise during construction processes
- Ensuring that quality standards are met
- Guaranteeing and implementing safety precautions
- Reporting the progress of construction projects to managers, supervisors, engineers, and other relevant personnel
Skill Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Foreman or in a similar role within the construction sector
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines and safety practices
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Ability to effectively manage resources and meet project deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of construction operations and equipment
- Good time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver
- Good math skills
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage
Minimum Qualification:
- Must be a Citizen of Tanzania
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- At least 5 Years Working Experience in a similar role
