As an Electrical/Solar Power Technician, you are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and solar power systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. This includes wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and performing routine inspections of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related equipment. You ensure compliance with safety standards, provide technical support, and collaborate with teams to improve system efficiency. Staying updated on advancements in solar technology is essential to delivering reliable and efficient energy solutions.
The duty station is Arusha office with the main objective to serve all ASILIA LODGES AND CAMPS systems. Overall, you are expected to work about 80% at Camps and Lodges and 20% at Arusha office.

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB:
To maintain, install, and repair electrical and solar power systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Work efficiently to support energy solutions across the organization’s properties, ensuring sustainability and reliability of all electrical and solar installations.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Daily Duties – Camps and Lodges
- Conduct inspections and maintenance of solar power systems, including batteries, inverters, modules, and related components.
- Perform preventive maintenance on general electrical equipment, refrigeration systems, kitchen appliances, and solar water heaters.
- Carry out detailed solar power system assessments, solar array testing, and data analysis.
- Install, troubleshoot, and optimize electrical and solar power systems to ensure peak performance.
- Maintain and update accurate records of all solar and electrical systems, as well as maintenance schedules.
- Prepare technical reports and create detailed drawings for technical communication and system documentation.
- Ensure timely implementation of maintenance strategies for lodges, camps, and other properties.
- Oversee and record maintenance work performed by outsourced service providers.
- Ensure proper maintenance of other water heating systems, including heat pumps, at camps and base locations.
- Conduct independent studies and provide interpretations and conclusions for improving solar power system efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to design and install new electrical and solar systems, ensuring they meet technical and safety standards.
- Perform regular inspections of backup systems, such as generators, to ensure readiness during outages.
- Provide technical training and guidance to other team members when required.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards across all projects.
- Flexible to travel and work across multiple ASILIA properties in Tanzania.
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the employer.
Key Responsibilities in Arusha Office.
- Perform routine maintenance and ensure all electrical systems are in proper working condition.
- Repair equipment sent to the base from camps and other units.
- Install new electrical systems and infrastructure as needed.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems in office environments.
- Keep accurate records of all equipment and assets received and maintained at the base.
- Implement maintenance strategies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Learn and apply company standards and policies for asset management as per guidelines.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on the condition and performance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Oversee and document Planned Preventive Maintenance services provided by outsourced contractors.
- Carry out any other relevant duties as assigned by the employer.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong expertise in electrical and solar power systems, with a focus on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Diploma in Renewable Energy or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution or university, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in solar power companies.
- Proven track record of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with solar power components such as inverters, batteries, and PV modules.
- Ability to conduct system diagnostics, assessments, and technical analysis.
- Understanding preventive maintenance strategies and asset management practices.
