Fundraising, Communications & Partnerships Associate

Organizational Overview
Asante Africa Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes quality educational, age-appropriate life skills, and leadership development for children in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda). We partner with local families, educators, and community members to create safe learning environments and merit-based scholarships.
Position Overview
The Associate supports fundraising, donor engagement, and communication activities to strengthen the organization’s financial sustainability and visibility. The role contributes to proposal development, donor reporting, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Resource Mobilization

Research and identify national and international funding opportunities.

Develop fundraising strategies, including grant writing and proposal development.

Build and maintain relationships with businesses, organizations, and individual donors.

Represent Asante Africa at events and conferences to expand networks.

Collaborate with Finance to ensure compliance with donor requirements and regulations.
2. Communication & Visibility

Develop materials such as newsletters, success stories, brochures, and annual reports.

Manage social media platforms and assist with website content updates.

Document field activities through photography, video, and storytelling.

Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communication.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Administration

Organize meetings, events, and outreach activities for partners and volunteers.

Track and report on fundraising activities against established targets.

Support internal communication by sharing progress reports across the team.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 3–5 years in resource mobilization or communications (NGO experience preferred).

Technical Skills: Experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and digital communication platforms.

Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, high level of integrity, and the ability to articulate challenges to leadership while offering solution-oriented discussions.
