Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Contract Duration: Nine months

Position: ADC Tanzania Ltd would like to recruit a competent Intern– Energy and Small Grants for the duration of 9 months.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Development and Coordination:

  • Assist in the development of small and entrepreneurship projects especially in energy sector and other small grants
  • Aid in drafting grant agreements, reviewing budgets, and conducting due diligence for grantees.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely execution of project activities.
  • Support training for grantees and assist with disbursement requests.

Energy Project Management:

  • Help define project scope, objectives, and milestones for energy projects, ensuring structured planning.
  • Verify milestones for energy initiatives to ensure alignment with project plans and grant agreements.
  • Facilitate the review and processing of disbursement requests for energy and small grants, ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of achievable milestones and review quarterly reports submitted by grantees.
  • Participate in preparing closeout and impact reports, summarizing project achievements and lessons learned.
  • Provide technical guidance to grantees, sharing best practices and troubleshooting support.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Assist in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects.
  • Support data collection and analysis, including conducting OCAT and PPI assessments and interviews.
  • Help prepare monitoring and evaluation reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Promptly inform relevant supervisor of any issues identified during monitoring visits.
  • Prepare and submit Annual Work Plans and Monthly Activity Reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Engineering, Business Administration or other relevant qualification.

Professional Experience:

  • Basic experience in program support, project coordination, or administrative roles related to energy or entrepreneurship initiatives is preferred.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy projects and sustainable development is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Knowledge of energy sector regulations and sustainable energy practices is an asset.
