EACOP is a company that is developing a 1,443km crude oil export pipeline to transport oil from Uganda to a port in Tanzania. The pipeline is buried and thermally insulated. It has six pumping stations and ends at Tanga with a terminal and jetty.
PIPELINE ENGINEER
This position is located at MST-Tanga and reports to the Inspection Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pipeline inspection for the PS4, PS5, and MST perimeters.
- Act as the main contact for pipeline integrity, corrosion, and chemical treatment in Tanzania.
- Define corrosion guidance documents and prepare for intelligent pigging operations.
- Implement inspection plans and review reports.
- Ensure inspections and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) follow safety rules and standards.
- Manage equipment registers and reporting using CMIMS and RBI-P.
- Supervise inspection contractors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Chemistry engineering.
- Knowledge of international codes (ASME, API, NACE) and NDT techniques.
- Experience in corrosion analysis and Fitness for Service assessment.
- Must be a Professional Engineer registered with the ERB.
LEAD PROCESS AND FLOW ASSURANCE
This is a full-time position located in Tanga, Tanzania, reporting to the Head of Methods and Process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide process engineering and flow assurance support to ensure optimal and safe operations.
- Coordinate fluid sampling, lab analysis, and chemical management.
- Lead process studies to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Act as the custodian of master process documents (P&IDs, PFDs).
- Lead optimization and flow assurance studies, and evaluate the use of Drag Reducing Agent (DRA).
- Ensure process documentation compliance with company and local requirements.
- Conduct de-bottlenecking studies and manage the Site Modifications process.
- Provide input for technical and safety reviews (HAZOP).
- Train and coach other Process/Field Engineers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Engineering degree, preferably in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of oil and gas industry experience, with at least 5 years in Process Engineering.
- Knowledge of Process Engineering software (Pro II, HYSIS, OLGA).
- Mandatory English proficiency.
MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR
This position is located at MST-Tanga with regular travel to EACOP sites and reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize maintenance planning across all perimeters (PS1, PS4, PS5, MST).
- Coordinate with various maintenance disciplines and logistics.
- Integrate “campaign-able” activities into the execution plan.
- Ensure work packs, procedures, and permits are included in planning.
- Conduct maintenance coordination meetings.
- Review procedures and workflows, and adapt planning to site and weather constraints.
- Analyze past activities to improve coordination.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or similar.
- 4-6 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
- Experience with multi-site and multi-discipline planning, maintenance contract management, and site shutdowns.
- Knowledge of Primavera or similar planning software and CMIMS.
- Must be a Professional Engineer registered with the ERB.
PROJECT ENGINEER
This position is located in the Tanga back office with regular travel to sites in Uganda and Tanzania. It reports to the Maintenance & Inspection Methods Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all project elements, including engineering, design, and quality.
- Manage the project budget and the change workflow.
- Act as the focal point for technical study requests and master data updates.
- Prepare the scope of work for validated projects and plans for resources.
- Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Write project reports and present progress.
- Ensure projects comply with codes and standards.
- Manage project documentation and perform root cause analysis for problems.
- Oversee strategic projects and equipment modifications.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BSc. Degree in an engineering discipline. A Master’s in engineering management is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or major project engineering.
- Proven Project Engineering/Project Management experience and experience with management of change.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and other project management software.
- Must be a Professional Engineer registered with the Tanzania Engineers Registration Board (ERB). PMP certification is highly desired.
- Strong personality with knowledge of mechanical, piping, and steel structure installation.
