Job Description

Totalgaz is looking for a Logistics Manager to join their team.

ACTIVITIES

  • Negotiate transport agreements, rail and depot delivery fleet at the best possible rates
  • Ensure the company complies with all transport agreement requirements
  • Ensure all modes of transport comply to the latest TotalEnergies requirements
  • Prepare transport tender documentation timeously
  • Manage transport rate adjustments
  • Prepare T1 and T2 costings and vehicle utilization
  • Prepare annual transport budgets
  • HSEQ (health, safety, environmental and quality) pertaining to all transport operations
  • Implementation of PATROM and other road safety initiatives
  • Vet supplier invoices
  • Monitor and measure dashboard results
  • Submit monthly KPIs as required by management
  • Analyze and develop strategies to resolve delivery issues
  • Ensure routing and planning is organized
  • Action plan management and preparations for internal and external transport audits
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with transporters followed by formal minutes and action plan

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Demonstrate and apply the necessary operational, managerial and leadership skills required for the effective running of the department.
  • Effectively manage employees through applying the company people management principles, and to develop, coach and mentor subordinates to promote a positive working environment which will attract and retain skilled staff and increase productivity
  • Provide a mentorship role to new and existing staff members ensuring competence of staff for safety critical and environmental protection activities

  • Responsible for the transport budget
  • 3 direct reports

Candidate profile

  • BComm Logistics Management or similar degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transport and distribution field
  • Experience in negotiating supply contracts in the oil industry would be an advantage
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Experience of managing transport efficiency and cost effectively
  • Experience in implementing inventory management processes
  • Experience in dealing with contractors and support functions to achieve business outcomes
  • People Management experience
  • Experience in managing large budgets
  • Experience in road transport safety
  • A good knowledge of industrial relations
