The Key Purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate the Packaging Lines (People, P/Lines, Process and Systems) in order to achieve the required standard of product quality and output in the most efficient and effective manner.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Packaging Performance

  • Production volume targets achieved as per plans (PPA, SL)
  • Packaging efficiency, (GLY, OSE, LEF)
  • Packaged product quality as per TPS
  • Raw Material usage rate as per BOMs
  • Wastes investigated, corrective and preventive actions implemented

Health, Safety and Environment

  • VPO Safety & Environment pillars implemented
  • Adherence to all safety inspections, training/coaching of workers, address unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Safety policies adhered at workplace
  • Housekeeping standards

People management

  • SKAP progress
  • Departmental employee engagement
  • People Development plans in place
  • Communication and feedback platforms in place and 1-on-1s

Asset management

  • Packaging equipment reliability
  • Asset management indicators (KPIs and PIs)​

Cost management

  • Budgeting process ownership for the department, and packaging materials
  • Production cost per Hl to benchmarks (VIC)
  • ZBB components control

Minimum Requirements:

    • Min – BSc or Engineer (Mech / Elec).
    • Engineer (Mech or Elect) or additional business qualification
    • Legal: None
    • Minimum of 3-6 months on the job training Ideal – 6-9 months on the job training
    • Experience: 2-3 years as Team leader, Engineering supervisor, Maintenance controllers/planners
