Branch Manager
Position – Branch Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
o To develop and propose yearly business plan for branch (loans and deposit business, staffing requirements and administrative costs) with a strong focus on increasing profitability of the branch
o Distribute business targets and objectives for all subordinated staff based on approved business budget
o Daily follow up on performance trend and conduct monthly performance evaluations as per Bank performance management procedures
o Chairs branch credit and recovery committees according to the Branch Managers approval limits
o Manage Administrative Cost of the branch as per budget
o Ensure appropriate monitoring of the loan cycle with regards to compliance with policies and procedures (eligibility criteria, loan file documentation, high quality committees, supervision visits, monitoring, other internal controls
o Monitor and manages Branch Business Supervisor’s portfolios to ensure they are complying to the
process and controls in place
o Develop good relationship with relevant stakeholders of regional institutions & governing bodies, business community and relevant government authorities
o Representation of branch when receiving visit from third parties
o Ensures an effective working relationship with all inter-department functions
o Monitoring of the staff in the department and their career path
o Ensures productivity, effectiveness and compliance in order to reach Bank’s standards and targets
by building capacities in the team.
o Plans and supervises monitoring of customer satisfaction surveys and adjusts service standards based on results

Selection Criteria and Qualifications
o Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management or other relevant field
o 6 years’ experience within a Business Department in the Bank, of which 2 years were in a
role of a Team Leader (loans or Operations)
o Knowledge, understanding & practice of the bank’s lending technology and retail services
business
o Leadership Skills, self-commitment, work under minimum supervision
o Knowledge of and compliance with Bank’s Policy and Procedure
o Ability and willingness to work in a team;
o Basic computer literacy in Word and Excel;
o Fluent in Swahili and basic command of English.
o No disciplinary record for the last six months
