Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage all Finished Goods (FG) inventory within the logistics supply chain, ensuring compliance with inventory governance processes, controls, and quality standards. The role ensures that all physical inventory movements are accurately transacted in SAP, discrepancies are investigated and resolved, and inventory integrity is maintained at all times.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Finished Goods Quality Management

  • Ensure FG inventory quality standards are adhered to in line with DPO and VPO requirements.
  • Accurately block FG inventory in SAP, with corresponding physical blocking mechanisms in place for quality-related and obsolete stock.
  • Enforce freshness and stock rotation policies in accordance with DPO and VPO standards.
  • Ensure inventory counts are accurately recorded, with quantities, BBD by SKU, and bin cards clearly displayed.
  • Apply and obtain approval for inventory concessions in line with VPO product age standards.
  • Ensure all FG salvage stock is re-packed according to VPO and DPO standards.
  • Ensure obsolete stock is decanted in accordance with approved policies and procedures.

2. Inventory Management

  • Conduct independent inventory counts for all returnable containers and reconcile results with SAP records.
  • Identify, investigate, resolve, and report inventory count discrepancies.
  • Escalate unresolved discrepancies to BLM, DCLM, and RLM with detailed commentary and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure all physical movements of containers are accurately transacted in SAP.
  • Validate T1 and T2 movements, including packaging receipts verified by line counters.
  • Verify write-offs against approved documentation and gate sheets.
  • Ensure breakages, obsolescence, and salvage stock are signed off and processed accurately in SAP.
  • Review and resolve all open T1 and T2 shipments.
  • Process container claims timeously with complete, signed-off supporting documentation and ensure SAB reimbursement.
  • Review, approve, and sign off POC and T2 driver route settlement corrections.
  • Monitor SCO budget versus actual costs, reporting gaps and implementing corrective action plans.

3. Governance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all inventory-related documentation is properly signed off, filed, and securely stored in line with the Inventory Control Policy.
  • Maintain and monitor security cameras at critical site locations and conduct random verification checks.
  • Perform three-point independent verification checks on all T1 and T2 shipments at both departure and arrival points.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in warehousing and inventory management within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Proven experience using SAP for inventory transactions and reporting.

Technical Skills

  • SAP inventory management proficiency (mandatory).
  • IBIS or Syspro system literacy (advantageous).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
