JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Production Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the manufacturing process of PP woven polypropylene bags.

The position reports to The Group General Manager. Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on demand forecasts and sales orders.
  2. Coordinate production schedules to meet customer deadlines while maximizing resource utilization.
  3. Ensure proper allocation of labor,equipment, and materials to meet production goals.
  4. Monitor raw material inventory levels and initiate reordering to prevent production delays.
  5. Establish and enforce quality standards for PP woven bags, ensuring that products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  6. Conduct regular inspections and tests on finished products to check for defects or irregularities.
  7.  Implement corrective actions in case of product quality issues.
  8. Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
  9. Optimize machine performance and minimize downtime by performing regular maintenance and repairs.
  10. Supervise and train production staff, including operators, supervisors, and other team members.
  11. Ensure staff adhere to safety protocols and production procedures.
  12. Enforce safety regulations to minimize workplace accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  13. Ensure compliance with environmental laws and guidelines related to waste disposal and emissions from production processes.
  14. Monitor production costs to maintain profitability and manage production budgets.
  15. Work to minimize waste and reduce production costs without compromising product quality.
  16. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, downtime, and maintenance.
  17. Prepare regular reports for senior management on production performance, issues, and improvements.
  18. Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure the timely availability of raw materials.
  19. Work with the logistics team to ensure that products are packaged and shipped on time.
  20. Collaborate with the R&D or design team to accommodate new product designs or process innovations.
  21. Address production issues promptly, whether they involve machinery, quality, or workforce challenges.
  1. Use analytical tools and techniques to find solutions to recurring problems or production delays.

Personal Attributes and qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is often required or Diploma in Production Management or similar disciplines, particularly with experience in the industry.
  2.  10 years of experience in production, preferably in the textile or plastic manufacturing industry.
  3. Specific experience in managing the production of woven bags or other polypropylene products is highly beneficial.
  4.  Knowledge of polypropylene extrusion processes, weaving techniques, and bag manufacturing methods.
  1. Familiarity with machinery and equipment used in the production of PP woven bags (e.g., looms, extrusion machines, cutting and sewing machines).
  1. Proficiency in production planning and inventory management software (SAP systems).
  2. Strong numeracy skills for calculating production costs, output rates, and waste levels.
