📍 Location: Singida Gold Mine,
📆 Work Schedule: 42 Days On / 21 Days Off
👤 Reports To: Procurement Superintendent
Role Overview
The Procurement Officer will play a key role in supporting procurement operations by managing purchasing activities, overseeing contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. This position will assist in preparing tender and contract documentation, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. The role also involves tracking supplier performance, resolving procurement discrepancies, and optimizing procurement processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Ensure procurement operations comply with government regulations, company policies, and industry standards
✅ Convert Stock and Non-stock Requisitions into Purchase Orders (POs) with minimal risk
✅ Expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery by suppliers within agreed lead times
✅ Process and release approved POs to suppliers in a timely manner
✅ Ensure suppliers deliver as per agreed timelines
✅ Manage non-conformances and discrepancies in delivery, ensuring timely resolution
✅ Prepare procurement reports, correspondence, and presentations
✅ Maintain active communication with suppliers and internal teams for order status updates
✅ Adhere to Shanta Gold’s occupational health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications
✔ Degree/Diploma in Commerce, Law (LLB), Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
✔ 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
✔ Experience in mining or construction industries is an advantage
✔ Proficiency in MS Word & Excel
✔ Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
