 Role Overview: Research Assistant

• Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (with travel to 8 regions)

• Duration: Maximum of 2 weeks (Starting January 12, 2026)

• Schedule: Full-time (Field-based)

Primary Responsibilities

You will be responsible for high-quality data collection using electronic devices (tablets), adhering strictly to study protocols and research ethics:

• Conducting participant interviews and obtaining informed consent.

• Managing data security, storage, and transfer using SOPs.

• Maintaining study gadgets (tablets) safely and ensuring they are charged.

• Participating in daily feedback sessions with the Team Leader/PI.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Technical Skills

• Degree/Diploma: Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Medical Sciences, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field.

• Experience: Proven experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative studies.

• Tech Savvy: Strong computer skills and experience using smartphones or tablets for electronic data collection.

• Communication: Ability to read and write fluently in both English and Kiswahili.

• Recency: Must have been engaged in similar research tasks within the last 2 years.

Key Soft Skills (Preferred)

• Field Readiness: Flexibility to work additional hours and travel continuously in remote areas.

• Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining a strong team player.

• Ethics: Deep commitment to participant confidentiality and “do no harm” principles.
