  1. MUSIC TEACHER
Job Title Music Teacher (Part Time or Full Time) 
Objective
  • To introduce students to foundational skills, techniques and concepts in music
  • To introduce students to a variety of musical instruments
  • To expose students to different musicians and music styles from around the world
  • To develop student musicians to find their voice / sound as young artists
Location Orkeeswa School, Monduli, Tanzania
Reporting To Co-Curricular Programs Coordinator
Working Relationships
  • Executive Director
  • Head of School
  • Assistant Head of School
  • Director of Strategy
  • Orkeeswa students
Key Responsibilities & Tasks Music Classes

  •  Introduce and/or reinforce foundational skills, techniques and concepts in music
  • Introduce students to a variety of musical instruments
  • Expose students to music from around the world
Afterschool Programming

  •  Work with individual student-musicians to develop their music practice and support them as they explore their own voice and talents as artists
  • Create opportunities for self-directed learning for emerging musicians
Performances

  • Prepare student musicians for performances on campus and beyond
  • Create opportunities for students to record their music
Experience, Skills & Strengths Qualifications:

  • Education and/or experience in music, as a musician and/or an educator
  • Experience working with youth highly valued

Other Requirements:

  • Passion for working with youth
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • To expose students to a diverse array of artists and their work
  • To inspire students to explore themselves and the world around them through visual art
  • To support student artists to develop their art practice
Location Orkeeswa School, Monduli, Tanzania
Reporting To Co-Curricular Programs Coordinator

Key Responsibilities & Tasks Art Classes 

  • Introduce and reinforce foundational skills, techniques and concepts in visual art
  • Facilitate art projects with students according to their level of experience
  • Prepare exhibitions of student art works
  • Expose students to visual artists and their work through field trips to local artists’ studios and exhibitions; through art history; through research into contemporary art in Africa and around the world
Afterschool Programming

  • Work with a group of student artists to develop their art practice based on their level of experience and individual needs
Experience, Skills & Strengths Qualifications:

  • Education and/or experience as an art practitioner and/or arts educator
  • Experience working with youth is highly valued

Other Requirements:

  • Passion for working with youth
