OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER OPPORTUNITY WITH HILL GROUP

Position Summary:

The Occupational Health and Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health and safety regulations within the workplace. The role ensures that the organization complies with legal safety standards, reduces risk, and promotes a culture of health and safety among employees.

The position reports to Administrator Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. 1. Policy and compliance

• Develop and implement occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and programs.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain records of incidents and statutory compliance reports.

2. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend preventative measures.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and corrective actions.

3. Training and Education

• Develop safety training programs and conduct regular training sessions.
• Ensure all staff are informed and compliant with safety procedures.
• Induct new employees on workplace health and safety procedures.

4. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
• Conduct emergency drills (fire, evacuation, etc.) and ensure equipment is operational.

5. Health Promotion

• Promote workplace wellness and occupational health programs.
• Liaise with medical professionals and ensure appropriate health surveillance is in place for employees at risk.

6. 6. Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare reports on health and safety performance for management.
• Maintain and update all documentation as required by law and internal policy.
